Significant internal conflicts can arise as advisory practices grow and evolve, both among partners and involving staff.  Knowing your conflict resolution style and that of your colleagues can be critical to resolving issues efficiently, before they are too complex to resolve without considerable expense and disruption to your practice.  This session will help participants assess their approach to conflict resolution and provide techniques for effective communication to prevent and resolve conflicts.  These methods can be valuable internally and with clients who are business owners and are experiencing conflict within their organizations.

Lisette Smith is a mediator, facilitator, and arbitrator at MWI in Boston (www.mwi.org). Her practice focusses on helping parties resolve conflicts that arise in closely-held businesses, including business partnerships and family businesses.   She has also worked with founders and principals of closely-held businesses and professional partnerships to resolve the financial implications of strategic planning and succession issues. Prior to beginning her full-time career in dispute resolution, Lisette spent almost twenty years as a financial advisor, most recently at closely-held firm that she co-founded.
