BOSTON, MA, ISSUED APRIL 22, 2013…The Financial Planning Association™ of Massachusetts (FPA of MA) is offering free financial coaching and planning to those who have been affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings.

Assigned volunteer planners will assist in defining financial goals, creating budgets, establishing savings plans, and ensuring that those participating in this no-cost program receive full advantage of the established funds and benefits available.

If you would like to request a meeting with a volunteer financial planner
please email admin@fpama.org with your contact information.

The FPA of MA already provides pro-bono financial planning services for military personnel and their families through the MA National Guard and for cancer patients and their families through a program with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

FPANE has also recently created another pro bono program for those who have served, this one for military veterans that have been chosen by Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization that builds homes for wounded veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The program was so successful here in Massachusetts that they have spread the volunteer model to other states.

“We support the community and our members have come together to offer our expertise and services to the victims and the families affected by the Boston Marathon bombings,” said Peter Jaworski, CFP, President of the FPA of MA.  “For those who have been affected by this tragedy, this program is particularly meaningful because it can ease one area of concern and worry as they recover and move on with their lives.”
